Ive got 3/4 of oz to update from my trip when I get a chance.

Rox (K),

It is not that big a problem. What I suspect has happened is that you have appended two file together to make the full plot. If you append them in the wrong order this can occur. I will have a look at the data and adjust and let you know what I find. The best way to test it is when you open the track file in Ozi use the Track Control options and open the file using the little button that looks like a document (bottom row 4th along), you will be presented with the point listing. highlight the first point (single click) then hit the target button it will show you the point on the map then go to the bottom of the file and target the last point (make sure the file is travelling the right way ie you start and end this file at the right points then append the next file and make sure it also goes the right way. I generally hightlight the first and use the down arrow to follow the track to the end making sure the target pointer does not jump around.

Basically the mapping system in plotswap takes the supplied data file and starts at the first point and draws the map line from beginning to end so if the data jumps around the line on the map does also.

Anyway let me have a look and report back.

Rox,

You had appened the files around the wrong way - there was two days worth of data in the file one being 12 Sep 05 and 13 Sep 05. Your original had the 13 before the 12 so when the map systm read the file it took the 13th data starting from Boggy hole to Ernest Giles as the start then went to Gosse buff to Boggy hole. I reversed the two sections using OziExplorer and uploaded it back to the system. It looks fine now - Only that you say it starts at Gosse Bluff however the maps shows you start from Gilbert Creek is there a bit missing? I think you may have camped down on the creek.

Ayway thanks for the updated plot file - Do you have a supporting waypoint file also?

I have uploaded some waypoints but it seams that i put the decription in the wrong box. can I change this? My decription reads Time Etc as I put the name in the long discription box.

Guys,

Thanks for your efforts on this. The waypoint system is not as simple as I would like however it is what I have at the moment. Currently the linking of waypoints to mapping really only works on Treknote related plots. I am trying to fix this and got part of the way through this before I had to shift to something else. I will try to get back to this.

Richard, Can you point me to the plot file that you uploaded waypoints into or did you just loaded them from the index page using the waypoint upload function. Did you relate them to a treknote? I will attept to trace what happened but if you can let me know that would help.

Rox, I will have a look at these also - I can easily convert the long desc to the short one using a command. I will have a look and let you know.

Rox,

I have corrected the entries - We use the description field as the main field for viewing waypoints as the name is usually to short for most GOS units so when waypoints are loaded we convert the info around and put the description to the OziExplorer Comment field. If you enter the OziExplorer comment this will become the description in our system and visa versa.

For the 48 odd points you loaded I transfered the name to the description field this fixed up the default Poition Marker comments that Ozi inserts when you use drop the waypoint onto the map.

One more question did you make a waypoint at the actual Boggy Hole site. When we went there we were not as diligent with GPS data as we are now. I think I have it somewhere but if you have it that would be great just post it if you have it and I will load it in.

I will get back to the waypoint processing function and fix the little holes ASAP. I am in the middle of a full site port to .NET and the moment so this is eating huge amounts of time. Also I you have some more point data to load just send it to me in email and I will load it using your profile (so you get the credits) to ensure that it goes in the right way.
