What about the claim in one of the news items that the Long Jetty Caravan
Park, in
Wilson's Promontory, is situated near the 'longest jetty in the Southern Hemisphere'.
If it is 1 km long as they claim, isn't it just a tad smaller than
Busselton's 1.839 km jetty.
Maybe WA was towed up to the Northern Hemisphere while we were asleep. (It doesn't seem any warmer up here though)

I think
Lucinda Sugar Jetty at 5.7km is the longest in the southern hemisphere

Beat this then - "Just out of Wickham, the
Cape Lambert iron ore ship loading facilities boast the longest and tallest jetty in Australia, at 12.7km long and built to a minimum clearance of 17.8 metres above the high tide." Quote taken from University of WA website.
