Maybe someone can tell me if
Water Injection on a Car with injecters will work?
Was in 1980 i purchases a
water injection foy my Valiant Regal 265 motor.
The system was very basic, was a
tank app 3 litres to put
water and a bit of metho in it.
There was a long thin brass or copper tube that went to the bottom of the bottle, then another tube that went to the carby to be inserted just above the butterfly flap that lets the air in. Also with it being above the butterfly it never sucked any droplets of
water till you use the throttle.
When i had this system , i increased my fuel comsupation by app 3/4 to 1 km on a litre of fuel, i did several runs over a marked area, using 1 litre coke botles in a crate inside the car and connected by tube to the carby.
The only thing you had to get right, was a brass or copper thin tube 1/2 along the plastic pipe with 5 holes in it, these holes were very small and i thik it was about 3 holes to get that mist of
water to go into the carby.
This was only a invention made by mytake, as a person had a fine crack in the head, and was using a wee bit of
water, but he noyiced that his fuel consumpion had risen to more then usual.
What i have noticed on my Nissan Pintara, is a butterfly inside the inlet that mixes the air with the fuel.
Does anyone think this would work the same as how it did on the Valiant?
As i would make up another one to gain a extra 3/4 to 1 km per litre.
I worked it out when i go from QLD to
adelaide i will get app 220 extra km's.
