Hi All,
I have had a 50 litre Chescold for a few years now and was wondering, do these things need any "servicing"
It's been perfect for our
camping as we tend to stay in the one spot for a couple of weeks and run it on gas, but I got it out last night to fire it up before leaving for
Double Island Point on Monday and realised that it's never been touched since I've owned it.
Any ideas?
Greg,
Bribie Island.

Had
mine 10 years never touched it works fine now as it did when it were new. Being a eutectic process I reckon a blow out with a air gun should suffice, also the gas jets maybe...but mines not needed that.

Let sleeping dogs lay Greg - as mentioned, blow out the dust carefully, from the back area now and then BUT don't let any dirt get in the tiny gas jet - best to keep the hose and regulator covered at all times when not in use. With no moving parts, apart from the odd element replacement in 12 or 240 volt (they can burn out with age), they can go on longer than we owners might :-) .......

Greg, Caravan refrigeration
services ? at Lawnton specialise with absorbtion refrigeration (chescold). They have repaired
mine in the past. But really, if its not broke, dont fix it.
