G'day,
What's the general opinion of the Shu Roo? We live out on the Tanami (NT) and come across heaps of wildlife (cows, camels, horses, roos, emus etc) and were considering installing a Shu Roo onto our '03 Prado. I've only been able to get info from the website on the unit and of course it talks up the product. I was just wondering if any other drivers out their have installed it and what they thought of it! Thanks!
Cheers!

I would be against any noise as it disturbs animals. Our shooting wagons had loud horns attached as laying on the horn to an escaping animal can make them hp out of the scrub and back out into into the padock. Onlyy lay on the horn to any animal you want to hit. best go is to travel after dusk when the roos are sitting rather than hopping

We also use these and as you say, the animals all take off in the other direction away from us. Maybe our imapgination but the $6 we paid for ours was
well spent.

I also use the cheapies, upon hearing the high pitched sound the roos just seem to stop & prop rather than dart about all over the place.
I have had them on my vehicle for over 3 years now.

G'day All,
I used to work for a mob in the bush and they had electronic shu-roo devices on their vehicles.
The old Skippy's thought it was feed time when we went up the road, they all ran in front of us. They may have some new devices out that work these days.
Good Luck P@J
