Goodyear have released a new 4WD offroad tyre - the "Silent Armour". Looks like an AT design, uses Kevlar instead of light truck construction for it's strength. Very limited size range at the moment, hoping they come out with some more options like 265/70R16.

Saw these at the 4WD Show in Melbourne. According to the guys on tha stand they are already available in 265x75x16. Cost quoted to me was $259. Look very much like the old Adventurer, so I hope they have improved on the wear and grip (especially wet weather) since then.

I have just wacked on a set of MT/R Wranglers which are so called "Silent Armour" in 235/85. Labelled "Dura Wall Puncture Resistant Technology"
Haven't had them on long enough to comment, but they're certainly not silent ... even in the Fender .. ;-)
Made in the USA and cost $270/corner.

Cheers
