The Shell at Rainbow will not accept any discounts eg 4c or 20c from Coles or associated.

Air is free. It can take a time though

I paid $1.79.9 at Orchid Beach (the servo near the air strip) three weeks ago. I am still getting used toe money rollers spinning faster than the litres roller.

At that time I *think* it was about $1.58 or so at Rainbow Beach and well under that when we refuelled in Gympie.

As fuel prices have dropped I guess they will be a bit less than that now. What I do is fuel up at Rainbow, and fill up on Fraser when the main tank is about 1/2 empty. Usually 1 1/2 tanks gets me all over the island over a week, so I at least save the "extras" on 1/2 a tank of fuel .. about 45 litres. Then I get into Gympie and refuel there .. saves mega-bucks.

If i filled both tanks up from empty at $1.79.9c per litre it would only cost me $323.82

I think we worked out that refueling in Gympie saved us about $30 as opposed to refueling in Rainbow. Not an insignifiicant saving in my view.

Hi Bub,

3 weeks ago we paid $1.50 / litre at Happy Valley & Eurong.
Orchid Beach is usually another 20 cents or so dearer.

Don't know the price at Rainbow as we camr from the north and crossed from River Heads.

Have fun,

Brett
