I have the bigger Oztrail canvas tent.
Good tent, except that it leaks straight through the zips on the front.
I have the side poles, but wish I hadn't wasted my money. They aren't a very good design and don't seem to hold the tent up very
well. They cause the square poles in the roof to come apart by their design. I also replaced the single centre pole with a spring type from Freedom, as the grub screw on the original centre pole failed to hold the tent up in medium winds.
Mine was $350 plus $50 for the side pole kits, from Grangers in Dandenong.

Yea thats where I got
mine. Big sale on now.
Mate had one on long weekend, and had no issues with wind or rain, thats why I was leaning towards that brand.
The sidepoles are good for me, double airbed for me and 5yr old son, he would freak being on his own on other side of tent in dark me thinks. Anyway will sus them out.
If
mine leaks thru Zipper, they can have it back.

Spray a hose over the zippers, in a fashion similar to rain, the
water goes straight through. The rest of the tent seems to be very
well made though.
It works ok if you fold down and zip up the awning, but
mine doesn't have double sided zips, so its hard to do from inside.
Check out the way the side poles hold the tent up, and you will see what I mean. The square section in the top does come apart, and the side poles tend to push it apart, and it doesn't seem to fit together very
well at all.
Mine is a stupid design, hopefully they have changed them now. You could probably make up something better and cheaper than I paid with a couple of extending poles.

What did you get Truckster? a seconds or a first? If you got a seconds what was wrong with it...at that price its worth grabbing one to throw in the shed as a spare.

Truckster,
I'd be keen to find out what the fault is with the seconds. If you find out tommorow would you be able to put up another post with the details?
$99 for a canvas 9x9 tourer is pretty good buying.
Cheers
Mark

Yeah, was thinking that. Wouldnt cost to much to freight up to QLD. Will still be cheaper than buying one full price. Thanks for
the tip.

Truckster, I can find the Granger site but can find any reference to the tent seconds. I've emailed Grangers to see if I can buy one from here in
Perth and have it sent over.
I want one to use as a storage area out the back of my offroad van.............. Or a shower tent, or a
toilet tent, or a doghouse tent after 3 beers & liver and onions!!

Actually Truckster, you may recall a ffew months ago I posted my gripe about getting done by a speed camera in the Kiewa valley after returning from
Falls creek. (86 in an 80kmh zone)???
Well the fine I paid, was $131.00. Today, I got a refund for the fine in the mail !!! Not sure why, but I'm thinking, it might just cover that tent and the freight !!! VICTORIA is a GREAT STATE !!!
