I-Com 400pro UHF

Hi all

I am new to this forum and have a lot of reading to do now but like to ask a
Q: Just bought a ICOM 400pro with the Cloning cable and have the CS-400PRO#11 software for it but are not sure on loading it up and changing setting as anyone had much luck with at all.

on my setting in the #11 software it reads like this Under Common and down to (Key Display) and down to (ETC) and down to
RF POWER SELECTION I have override type in it will that give me the 25watts or should it be MR CH Individual.

Hi David.

You can only select 25watts RF power if you have a private channel. The internal radio software and the computer software will not allow you to select more than 5 watts for the 40 CB channels, thus violating the class licence. If you have paid for, and received approval for a private channel, then programmming the IC-400 pro is very easy to set up to give you 25 watts on the private channel.

I will have to boot up my software in a while and take a look. It would also pay you to ensure that your PC is bog standard, and has no strange hardware components, the port programming can be upset by strange port settings, or non-standard UART chips.
