My partner and I are planning to circumnavigate Australia in 2 years time. I am looking at buying a Td5 Discovery and a 1.5t caravan to do the trip. Can anyone advise if this is a good choice of vehicle and whether if a caravan is too cumbersome??
Cheers, Tony

My wife and I travelled 27,000km throughout OZ a couple of years ago with a camper trailer on the back of a Tdi Disco. We were so impressed, we recently traded up to a Td5 auto. Still VERY impressed. It barely notices the 600kg Aussie Swag camper on the back. A little thirstier than the Tdi manual, but a dream to drive in ALL conditions. Just purchased a 15 caravan and would be happy to post you another reply once weve picked it up and tried it out.
