Hi all perhapes someone can advise me on installing a twine shower in my 100series petrol landcruiser, i got the shock of my life when the local 4x4
shop quoted me $400 to install the shower i thought it was bit much as its only going to take about 5 hours or so, has anayone installed one of these units and how hard is it and do i need any special bits and peices, the guy told me the pump has to sit at a special angle and its a tricky job to do i really dont if he pulling my leg or not have sent a email to twine but no responce as yet ok thanks guys hope to here soon regards stan.

I installed a Helton the other weekend to my rodeo ran it in parallel off the heater hoses. Also installed my own self priming pump.
Spent a few days prior seeing where I going to place Exchanger, pump and hoses then ran around and got some bolts, coolant, Fuse, wire and some clip-on air hose fittings just to make it easier to change hoses,
The instructions on my pump didn't mention anything about the angle, its fitted upside down and works fine.
All up took 6 beers= 4-4.5hrs.
It's not hard and I wouldn't pay $400. At the most $200.
Go for it.

Hi Stan ...
Put one into my 80 Series Landcruiser about 3 months ago and it was pretty easy. Your kit should have come with a pretty comprehensive set of instructions. If not, check out the website on this link , where there is an email address and the fitting instructions.
It is a pretty easy job to fit it, even for a technical gelding such as myself, and $400 seems pretty excessive for a simple job like this. Effectively all you are doing is adding a heater to your heater line in the vehicle, and installing a pump.
There was a special mounting bracket for my 80 series, but I don't know if there is a similar one for your model. Maybe the website will assist.

Just checking out that website, I notice there is a Heat Exchange mounting bracket for the 100 Series, If you dont have it I think you will need it, and it makes fitting it all that much easier.

I fitted my Twine to my Frontera in about 4 hours plus a trip to a hydraulics
shop for more fittings. The heater hose was 5/8 inch hose and the Twine had 1/2 inch so I needed a reducer. (Excuse imperial measurements). I also changed the fixing bolt nuts to Nylocs as they were not easy to get to after the job was done. Those people who think $400 is a lot for 4 -5 hours work and $200 is closer should run there own business. Would they work for $50,000 a year which would have to include the cost of premises, staff and all the other ancillary costs in running a business? I doubt it.

I guess the point he was making was the whole system cost $400 so it sounds expensive. I suppose it seems fairer if you get someone to fit a new auto transmission worth $3000 and get charged $400..
