Anyone out there tried or have any feed back on any of the paint protection products on the market. Not the paint on wash off stuff for trips away.
The ones I am interested in are the long term coatings, such as the one at the following site.

I am told by a panel beater friend that whilst some of these products are good, minor dings later on create problems with preparation and matching.
Have used a product called Solvex on caravan (aluminum) and it did the job
well. Not game to use on car, for above reason, though my neighbour applies it to his 4WD ever year and swears by it.

Blaze,
I haven't heard of the product on that website but the spiel is impressive, or at least it would be if I understood half the words they used. I bought my Patrol new 3 years ago and had it Ming coated before delivery. Wasn't cheap but I knew the truck would be living in the open for much of its life so considered it worth a try. They insist on it being washed with their shampoo which came with it. I have to say it seemed quite effective for a good while. I spent Xmas / New Year in the
Vic high country last year and it was covered in sap and caterpillar pee, a shower of rain, condsiderable dust and 40 degree heat over the 10 days or so. Nobody would have paid more than $500 for it when we hit civilisation. It looked ready for the wreckers. I hit it with a high pressure cleaner before applying some suds and I could have got away without using them. I was amazed. I ran out of the shampoo and now use Maguires products. A recent trip around Oz has dulled the finish a bit so I will give it a polish now but 3 years without needing one and living in the open in suburban
Melbourne (acid rain etc) is a fair advertisement. I would buy it again. The product you have found on the web is much cheaper (I think the Ming was up towards $600). Ming offer annual renewal but at a cost - I didn't bother. They also offered rust protection which I took - no signs yet, but I wouldn't expect there to be either.
Good luck.
