I have just looked at a 91 Nissan patrol that came from factory with the Nissan RB30 6cyl engine, however the second owner being a diesel mechanic did not like petrol and has dumped a TD42 6cyl Diesel engine in it with an after market turbo kit too.
I have the dilemma of the engine mounts not lining up, so can anyone please help me in the case of does the RB30 motor have different sized mounting brackets or positions to the TD42 motor, or do i have to get some brackets made up to suit the positioning of the mounts on the chassy rails to suit the TD42 block????
If anyone can help asap please email me on mjobrian@optusnet.com.au
Cheers Michael

I may stand corrected here but I think the RB30 powered Patrol had different gearbox and diffs to the TD42 , MUCH LIGHTER if they have not also been changed the torque of the turbo diesel is going to cause a big crunch somewhere else in the driveline.
Regards Ken.

thanks for your reply, i have found out from an engineering mate in my club that the RB30 motor does have different positions for the engine mount on the chassy, therefor to put a TD42 motor in there you would have to unpick the mounts from the chassy and reweld them in the position you need, then have it all engineered, in other words very costly. Thanks for all ur support, cheers michael
