Hi all,

I don't know if you've seen this yet but it's a disasterous attempt to recover a stuck vehicle. It was posted on LCOOL a little while ago and thought I should share. Unbelievable!!!! Takes a while to load all the pics but well worth it - not a straight panel left on the Jeep I reckon!

http://tinyurl.com/ch34z (not sure how to hyperlink so cut and paste) ;-)

Cop ya later!

Faced with that situation I would have been making all efforts to get it recovered backwards even if it meant removing a few tonnes of the bank that it was perched on! Might have taken a while with shovels but it only looked an earth bank.

Failing that the heavy machinery might have been handy a bit earlier. To choose that option of dragging the vehicle through the pond! Sheer madness.

Ahhh well. That is Jeep drivers for you! (Sorry!)

Cheers

Just thought it was interesting to note that all those trucks had all the bells and whistles, can't remember seeing a single shovel!

I musta got sucked in..........I believed the advertsing that "There's only one Jeep".......and I thought Lucy owned it.!!!!

Anyway, buggar me dead if we weren't down south of Port Victoria (SA) last weekend and I saw 9 of the b@stards driving around, up and down sand dunes etc. It was funny (sad in fact) to listen to them on the radio too......one woman said "we're having a bit of trouble getting up this dune".....other voice (bloke) says,....."what pressures are you running in your tyres?".....woman says...."35psi"......bloke says...."yeh, that could be your problem, may need to drop them down a little bit".....

Sorry to any members of the Adelaide Jeep Club who may be reading this forum and be offended by me telling this to all the world, but you blokes really should learn how to "Tread Lightly" and be mindful of the damage you are doing to the tracks (in this case they were on private property...with owners permission apparently.....we were there at the owners invitation as well, with the aim of doing some recovery demonstrations for the local SES covering winching and snatching; the property owner being the President of the local SES).

Another bit of radio chit/chat went along the lines of......."you seemed to be having some trouble getting up that sand hill"......response from driver ....."yeh, we were just trying to make it a bit more interesting for the rest of you".......or words to that effect.
