I am wonderng if anyone has put electric windows and door locks out of an ST patrol to a DX patrol. Is there a simple way of just removing the window motor, locks and wiring, or has the whole wiring loom have to be swapped? Any help would be appreciated.

windows are easy, just use the electric mechanism form a ST, run your own wires and switches. Door locks, use after market ones.

thanks for the reply mate, i was hoping to be a cheap bugger and just use the whole lot, as i have an ST that doesnt require any of its...comfortable bits... I just thought it may be a snap on wiring lume for all the doors.

bakes, that puts a whole different slant on things, you should be able to to just plug in and fit some fuses. Best of luck

Hi Bakes,
Haven't really looked hard at the wiring looms of my GU, but on my old DX Mav (GQ), the wiring loom was the same for all models, just nothing plugged into the floating connectors on the poverty pack. Suspect the GU is the same, as it has a few unused connectors floating around here and there; ie, if you can get hold of the mechanisms off an ST, complete with connectors and switches, then it should plug straight in. Bear in mind there is a control module concealed somewhere up under the dash which you will need.

Bakes, does your ST have electric mirrors? If so, if you are not using them, I would love to purchase the wiring loom for the control switch in the dash...... Just a thought. John
