Inskip Point Fraser Island prices

Does anyone have any updated price information on the Inskip Point ferry charges? Last I can work out is that it was about $20-30 per vehicle.

Bonza, We were up there in Nov 2002 and the price was $35 return.

Bonza i heard just before Xmas the barges were at $60 and $65 return but we went over in july and only paid $35 return the higher price I hope but dont like the idea of is only during the peak xmas new year period so i hope the prices will drop after the holiudays some back ground is i am a resident of gympie and my father is a volenteer at the local info booth and he was told of the higher price just bfore Xmas.
I Hope this is of some assistance. Well worth the trip.

We just got back from Fraser yesterday and both barges were charging $60 return for a car.

I have heard the barges are one car only is this right??

No, the barges fit a number of cars on them, our trip back had about 8 cars on it and 2 of them had trailers as well. There are about 4 or 5 barges that do the trip so you can pretty much just drive onto the beach at Inskip and straight onto a barge, we did both ways! If you are going to be towing a trailer there is also an additional charge for the trailer but passengers are free unlike the barges from Hervey Bay.
