Have got lightforce 240 blitz's, I'm looking at changing the covers just wondering
Has anyone tried the crystar blue combo covers? What is your opinion between the blue and the clear? Also how much horizontal beam spread does it give.
Thanks
Col

i have xgt's, can't help with the colour, am interested in that myself.
the combo covers give a large spot that's not as strong as with the spot covers, the spead comes out as i line probably 2m high at 100-200m. quite good for seeing the sides on a flat road, not fantastic in undulating territory, the headlights seem to fill in that area enough anyway.
i think they's wrth the $30

i have 1combo and 1 spot, i have considered 2 combo's though because you still get a good spot from combos

Hi Simple,
I have XGT's and i use defusers on both lights.
Light blue covers low reflection, my eyes don't get sore driving at night.
Dave.

I have had mine for quite a while now and done some trips with them also. As mentioned, it is a defininte line across the road. My theory is that it is more concentrated light as it's not 'going up in the sky' etc so you are getting more of your money's worth at night. I have found the combo to be very good and my travelling companion (who travels behind me because my lighting is so good) has been sold on them also and is throwing his Narvas out. Having two combos would be a waste though because of it's directional light beam. One is plenty whilst the other is the spot.

I am definately sold on the blue combo. It seems to really "clean up" the light. Once you look at the normal light again it almost looks "yellow" and not as bright. One big advantage for me is that it also gets rid of the glare around the edges (as I can see the light from my driving position). Now it just looks like a blue fluro instead which does not detract your concentration at all.

Bottom line is that the combo is directional but very effective, and I am sold on the blue cover. Enjoy your lights! (best investment I ever made).

I had the blue lenses on for a while but one night tried the standard clear lenses and a blue lenses to see the difference. The blue lenses change the colour of the light but are not as bright as the clear lenses, not even close.

I have had the Crystal Blue lenses for a while now on my 240 Blitz lights, as with any coloured cover in front of the light, they due reduce the distance the light projects slightly, but do give a clearer whiter light. The whiter light is suppose to reduce eye strain although I have not been able to notice any difference, my eyes are still bloodshot after an all-night run.

Hi Snowy,
Have you got spot -combo or 2 combo covers?
I am more interested in how much sidewards light is emitted, i'm willing to sacrifice a little distance for more spread of light.

When I went to buy a combo cover I was told not to worry about it as these lights are already adjustable between pencil beam and spread beam. I have two crystal blue covers both of them spot. I have one light wound most of the way out to provide a good spread of light just beyond the range of the existing headlights, and then the other wound right in to provide a pencil beam aimed down the road. About the only improvement I have thought about making is buying a third light, so that I have two spread beams aimed at opposite 30deg angles to provide a 180 deg spread with more intensity on the road, and a third pencil beam aimed down the road.
