Hi all,
I live on the Gold Coast and am having trouble finding someone who can supply me with a couple of Lightforce 100w globes.
Any suggestions? Your help would be greatfully appreciated.

They are South Aust numbers, but they will certainly send anything you want by mail.

That's the point I guess.... they're not hard to locate.

There are only two numbers for LightForce Australia-wide. One is an 02 NSW number (02 4966 8330), and the rest of the states use the one 08 number (08 8440 0888).

Well there you go. I didn't realise that lightforce used special globes.

Yep - the xenophot bulbs like those used in projectors - i.e. specifically designed to send a bright beam of light forward.

I've had mine now for years (since they first came out), and haven't had a failure yet. That's quite a few thousand hours of use over the years.

Sorry but mine are crap. That's the whole problem with these lights - the globes. Mine have gone black inside the bulbs several times and after only about 30 hours use. Also because of their two pin design they are not always easy to install. Sometimes you have to adjust the globe position to get a perfetly round beam and you have to be sure to fit them "square" to the lamp base.

Thanks everyone for you responses. I'm sure I'll get these globes soon.
By the way, I've had these 240's since 1990 and they have been on two Troopies with plenty of trips over the years.
I have never blown a globe. Not bad 15 years I reckon.
Why then do I need new globes?
Well i'm a bit red faced over this.
My latest troopie has begun to overheat at speed on warm to hot days. So I though perhaps if I can improve the airflow to the radiator I can put off getting it looked at, so I unscrewed both lenses and removed them completely.
Ran like this for a few weeks no worries.
The other week me and the mower went past the car at the front of it and sheared off both globes. Bugger! 15 years is the record so far. I'll start all over again. Going for 16 years now.

Cheers Pedirka

Yes Peter I have been in contact with them constantly & they have stood by the product & supplied many replacement globes free of charge. They also offered me my money back. When the lamps work correctly they are not to bad it is just keeping them operating at 100% efficiency that is the problem. Based on my experience with the Lightforce I bought my son who resides in the Pilbara a set of Rally 4000's. He was so happy with them and after speaking to many other Rally 4000 users including many professional truck drivers that I bought a set of 4000's for my Patrol to replace the IPF's that come with the Nissan bullbar, towbar, driving lamp , etc package. I am more than happy with the 4000's not having had to touch them apart from minor re-alignments prior to big trips. I still have the Blitz 240's on my car but I think looking at who is using what brand lamps out on the highway tells the story (in WA anyway). The other problem with Lightforce, although from SA direct dealing they have been very good, is that they do not deal with major automotive ware houses, probably to try and keep the price up, so any problems you have cannot be sorted locally. Going to the local 4x4 store and dealing with the counter jumper there would I feel be a waste of time.
