HI all,
I have a Turbo diesel Prado with 230,000 km on it and am lookiing at the alternatives available for a
suspension replacement. It is typically driven on main roads with about 10K km per year on dirt or broken surface roads. I am not looking to increase the ride height as it is also our family transport. I am located in
Bathurst NSW and would be interested to get others ideas.

Just make sure you get Biltein shocks when you upgrade your
suspension.
If spings don't sag then you'll probably only need shocks.

Suspension setup have very little to do with the road surface you drive on but more the load you carry or tow.
Most
suspension lasts a long tiime without added stress of heavy payloads.
We replaced the rear springs on our 2002 TD last year after we noticed the rear end sag when just towing the boat with some
camping gear in the back. It had dropped 50mm from standard in 2 years. Mind you that was 2 years of off roading in WA and NT and towing a caravan.
Heavier springs and polyairs fixed it all.
If you still have the orginal
suspension after 230,000 then your vehicle has had a very sheltered life.
We're about to rteplace the standard Tojo shocks in the rear after 75000 km as the top sleeve has seperated from the shock body. Perhaps we drove on too many dirt or corrugated roads. Like
the springs we're going for a set from TJM. I figure go for good after market 4WD
suspension.
