We are looking at one of these units, vehicle will not be used off road, but mainly for towing a 1800 kg caravan.

Could I ask some questions.

1. How often is the engine particulairly services.

2. Are the parts expensive, and how good is the service.

3. Is the optional suspension an attractive deal and is it really required for mainly blacktop driving.

4. What fuel consumption are you getting.

Are there any other comments you would like to make. I note the diesels at least are being discounted, is there a new model coming.

Thank you all for your kind comments.

Regards

From what I can gather you are on the right track. These vehicles appear to be extremely capable & represent excellent dollar value. As far as the suspension pack is concerned it would probably be an advantage for towing, I assume the 1800kg represents the tare weight, so you would think it would be quite a bit heavier fully laden.
Surely the dealer can tell you the recommended service intervals?
My daughter has a Mazda Tribute & has now developed an interest in 4 wheel driving & the high country, so I have told her to look very hard at the terracan CRDI also.
Most comments on this forum in regard to Terracan have been positive.

Good luck!

Some of the guys are having a few hicups, but it would seem Hyundai are doing the right thing and sorting it out.

I would give one serious consideration if I was looking.

The only hesitation I would have with one of these is the ground clearance, however, as you have indicated, you do not intend on using it offroad, so then it would be very hard to go past in terms of $$$ value. I would also opt for the suspension upgrade.

It is fairly likely that at some point may find yourself venturing offroad becuase you have a 4wd and then before you know it, you'll be hooked on getting offroad !!!

Go for it !!!
