After much sweating and gnashing of teeth we decided to get rid of the Jack. Sold it yesterday and jumped into a new Prado TDI ( yes gone to the dark side). New car will be delivered next Monday. We have a few accessories for sale in the Trader section if anyone is interested. Nobby

Good onya Nobby,

Sorry I did not get to replying to your MM about opinion on Prado but rest assured you have made a good choice. The Prado may not be an extreme 4by but you will find it very quiet and comfy with reasonable performance (if you want a rocket buy the petrol one) that will go anywhere the Jack went.

Best improvement you can do straight off is to replace the tyres immediately with BFG A/T or Cooper ATR depending on what sort of off road you want to do.

Cheers
Muddy

While we are happy to keep the Jack for a while yet, I'm sure the Prado will be a winner Nob - drove one on a recent long trip towing a medium tinny - a fine vehicle all round - great in the sandhills too ( see http://www.visualmediatraining.com/wilbertstravel/images/pajero_dune.jpg (ignore the wrong vehicle name) and

Mind you - you might miss those extra 20 kilowatts in the Isuzu ! Regs.

sweet, great minds must think alike, i had a good think a while ago about what new vehicles i would look at getting in a few years, and the td prado was at the top of the list.

With a dtronic and a 3 inch exhaust with new dump pipe, she will go as good as the jack, maybe even better !!

good luck with the new rig, gotta love that standard fuel capacity!!!!

Nobby.

Sorry to hear about the Jack.
The first thing you will have to do is introduce the Prado to the camper and them the camper can show the Prado Moreton & Stradie.

All the best.

Congrat`s on Prado wont be sorry, replace our Jack in April this year, Prado handles 17 foot tandem van better than Jack in the hills.
Cheers
