I've been reading the archives about clutch problems on post-98 Jacks. I'm not sure if the Jack's are particularly vulnerable in this regard; other 4by's with dual mass fly
wheels seem to have similar probs. My question is - once the clutch has been replaced on a Jack, does it last longer than the original? Anyone got any experience with this?
Rob.

gday rob, if you use a high quality aftermarket clutch, and get the flywheel faced properly, then it will last as long as any other unit.
yes the factory clutches have a small habit of losing tension on some of the pressure plate fingers, causing shudder etc. but most are ok.
mine gives a slight shudder now and then, but its got 155000k on it and still going strong.
