I have just come from the Perth 4x4 show and saw a reflective silver cover that is tied over the existing canvas...sort of like a tropical roof. I went inside the annexe, which didnt have the cover and it was much hotter than the sleeping area which had the cover. they were on a Camprite trailer, so I thought i would just get the info off their website, however, they dont have this info there.
Does anyone know where in Perth you can get these covers made?
They look like a solar blanket.
Thanks in advance.

Richard I got there at 10am and the que of traffic going in was painfull. No ARB, TJM or OL, lots of camper trailers and the usual camping stores, some boats etc. I was dissapointed cos I've got a Terracan and wanted to see if TJM had fitted the snorkel yet, but as they weren't there, what can I say. Cheap day out but hot.

Cheers Dunc.

For the reasons Duncan says, it was a disappointment for me. I was looking for roof racks and storage _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx for my Cruiser. There were only a few racks and no storage systems whatsoever. Lotsa GPS stuff, comms stuff, suspension gear, caravans & camper trailers though.

We came away with a new camp oven (God knows what's happened to the last 2 we had), a caravan step and something I've NEEDED for a long time out in the bush - a TENS machine.

What's a TENS machine I hear you ask? It's a miniature version of one of those things that the phyisotherapists use when you've put yer back out. It sends impulses through the affected area to stop the muscle spasm. Being a prospector I often put my back out big time about every 4 weeks in the bush. These things are bloody brilliant at getting rid pf the pain! I borrowed one last time it happened and swore I'd get one fer myself.

But the show was a disappointment.

Bilbo, Tens machines may mask the pain but they won't fix the back you managed to put out. You still have to take care and not aggavate the injury even more while you cannot feel the pain with which your body is telling you to lay off wrecking it for a bit until it gets a chance to heal.

90% of people with back pain know there pain, and know it will never heal. You just have to deal with it the best way you can ,the tens machine is great at blocking pain ,people who say give it a chance to heal have never had real back pain .Take it from me I know.

Been looking @ this for inside a canopy.
silverline insulation
Very tough material initially, don't know the longterm effects of vibration though. Will require glueing to create a suitable tarp.

Thanks Gents...and Ladies. I knew there would be an answer here somewhere. Richard, I went to the show so a mate could check out the campers. It is really good if you dont have a clue what you want, and too see new things but unfortunately the new stuff is light on. It was a good day out though.

to check tyres out. Had a look at Coopers and Goodyear. But could not find
Bridgestone. My one moan is the cost of food.Luckily we carried our own water.

Hi Woobla,

Had one made for my camper. The material was bought from Bunnings - i forget what it was called, but it is the same as the one you saw on the camprite (I know cause the friend that I bought it with has a camprite). Took it to a canvas company in Mandurah and hey presto! The roll that we bought cost about $9.00 per metre. The stuff might be called astrofoil or something like that. It was a good investment!

Thanks Steve,
I appreciate the feedback. I checked Bunnings and they had some reflective stuff that covered plastic bubble wrap and that was $12.10/metre. Can you let me know if the material i described is the same as you used and is it fairly robust? Did the canvas place seal the sides and put eyelets in?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jeff

What does your friend think of the camprite CT??
I like the concept of the design ie bedding all off the ground.
I wonder about the bed out the front. Would have to uncouple CT each time. A lot of tent to fold up ??

Hi Woobla. Yes, this is the stuff. The canvas makers put in seams, joined the necessary pieces, put edging on and placed reinforced eyelets on it. It is exactly the same as the one on the camprite except for the shape. Our friend has had it for years with no problems. Means I can have a comfortable afternoon nap.

Hi Lachie.
Our friends have had a camprite for a number of years now - they love it so much they bought the company - well nearly! They haven't bought the company, but they have bought a number of them and set up a hire company here in WA. Saw the new models at the show last weekend and the bed at the front is even better - new design and no poles necessary. The best feature is the room inside for a hard floor camper.
