Just picked up from the newsagent "Caravan World's CamperTrailer Guide". It compares 25 different brands of CTs If anyone is looking for a CT as I am, this is a must buy.

Yes saw it today - looks like there coming thick and fast - different designs capturing different markets. Like the new cross terrian model on pge 62.

I was a bit upset with the photos of this, as I can't really get an idea of what it looks like from the published photos. The angles were too limited. Sounds like a great camper, but at $40,000 - $47,000, it'd have to be.

I just visted their website and there isn't even a mention of the Cross Terrain or the Islander. They really need to put up information and photos as so many people check out stuff on the net before buying. I certainly do.

Actually, I can't really see how this CT is supposedly a cross between a CT and a caravan. From the photos published in this magazine, it just looks like a bigger CT to me. I guess you've got to see it in the flesh, which for a non Queenslander is unlikely. Do Steve and Rhonda frequent the forum. T'would be good to ask some questions.

BTW, how does the TD5 go towing the Odyssey?

I suppose they are trying to get away from the typical awning setup with ropes, pegs and poles so that with overnight stops, which are more the norm with most people, you have a quick awning setup like a van.

Everythings way off the ground like the Ultimate and the beauty with this thing would be if you need to shift it around while it's up you can, no fold down floor.

Also a tilt top should be quicker and easier and you can utilise it for permanent fixed solar panels like on a van or still have the tinny up there.

Vanners mostly cook outisde anyway so keep the outside kitchen and it look like it has 2 external storage compartments

Just need the flat screen TV now and you're set.

Sorry forgot
Very happy with the TD5 although it is chipped and bigger intercooler. same specs now as a LC100 4.2TD.

Did tow for a while when it wasn't chipped and the torque is fine but it did struggle with 1.2t of fully loaded camper trailer off the mark. But I see tons of TD5's towing 18ft caravans, mainly due to the economy I suspect and they only putter along like I do at 80-90klms anyway.

The cross terrain is about to hit their website apparently.

Have just spent Sunday at the Perth 4WD & adventure show. Most of the good CT makers were there. I was very keen to get a look at the ULTIMATE campers and was very impressed with it's apparent robustness and it is obviously very capable off road, but at thirty seven thousand buckeroonies ?????? yeah right.

IMHO the first edition was much better. It had modre details on the options, prices
and specs. Also they don't inlcude campter trailers which was reviewed
in earlier editions...
