Does anyone know if TB45E (Auto G/Box) Chip Upgrades are Avail ??
I drove my 4.5l Petrol Patrol to
the tip, actually looking for Cruiser Parts :) with a heavy load (800kg) in the trailer.
From standing start up a slight gradient I timed between two gates 19.0 seconds...
After Dumping the load from Standing start back DOWN the same gradient still 19.0 seconds.
So... Im thinking the engine has plenty more power but it is being restricted by the Chip (probably to protect the Auto Gearbox) so was wondering if any upgrades are avail. (Note:upgrading to a cruiser will not be considerred a legitamate upgrade!)
Does anyone know a supplier?
Plus, I was beaten off the line at the lights by my mates Stinking 2005 Diesel 3.0Turbo Cruiser (Sorry, Patrol Fans but you can see my dilema!)

Hi there Graeme, and he will probably beat you again, as the cruiser turbo have a bleep load of grunt and are quit quick off the mark, I have driven one and was very surprised by the grunt it had and also they are a 4.2 turbo not a 3L like the nissan's. Sorry, but I'm a toyota man had to say it. Have a great day, hopefully some one will be able to help with your dilemma, bet you didn't find any cruiser parts, probably cause they got out of there a bit quicker LOL AH the toyota.

Remember, they are a low tech donk, but they have an astonishingly good reliability record in standard form. From my personal experience, and everyone I've talked to including the workshop foremen and parts guys at two major dealers (off the record) they have no vices. (apart from a bit of a thirst, but not nearly as bad as often made out)
I always ran
mine on PULP too, definately makes a difference.

Now I know why 4.5's are worth nothing on the used car market! Thirsty AND slow.

I know a few guys running Unichips with good results.
Wouldn't mind doing that myself. Can never have too much power IMO.
Dont know about being too slow Truckster. Not too many TD's are in front of my 4.5 when pushed . . .
Fuel use though . . . . :(
