Whilst travelling the highways & byways, I'm amazed at the number of new and very late model vehicles with faulty lights. Some brake/head/tailights etc. some of them look like current models. Is it because manufacturers are using those stupid little spade type globes, instead of the bayonet types in older vehicles??
It was almost a novelty in the good ole days seeing a vehicle with 'one eye' . Now days it seems very common...

I think most drivers too are oblivious to the fact that they have a blown blinker or taillight as
well. I check the lights probably once a month - helps when someone can stand behind to see if your reverse & brakelights come on for you too.

Can do the reverse & brakes yourself, just need a functioning handbrake. I stick on the highbeams, fog lamps,
driving lights, hazzards, jam the club lock on the brake, handbrake on, stick it in reverse, and then have a walk around the car & trailer.

My wife doesn't like being referred to as the handbrake :-)

LOL.
Mine either, but she only found out recently that that degoratory term existed. Going around a dirt corner in a tag along kinda format, guy up ahead said it was slippery, so I whacked the handbrake on for a bit of fun going around it. Afterward I said on the 2-way that yes it was slippery and the handbrake liked it. No laughs came, so I speculated to missus that I woner if I thought I was referring to her! ha. Not. What do I mean she asks...

seems very common in Holden Commodores. Take a note which car type it is. I would say over 70% are Commodores.

I did a quick check as I was driving around last night.
I saw six vehicles out of several hundred (I was driving in medium traffic for an hour).
There were:
Two Commodores
Two Falcons
One Mazda 323 Astina
One Toyota Camry.

Hi signman, I think you are on the money with the spade type globes , often all they need is a rap on the lens and they come back on,no actual spring tension on the contacts. Also these days many replacement globes are made in China and they are crap!
