I had a disco that came with an arb dual battery system that worked well, I've just bought a ford courier (diesel) and I need to fit a system that will run my fridge & cb. Could someone recommend which system I should go for, value for money is important. I already have an exide orbital deep cell.

Stick with what you know. I love the ARB system for its simplicity. The more complicated the system (more features etc) the more that can go wrong with it. Not good if you are miles from anywhere.

Rick do you know if all the systems cost about the same? I've surfed the net and found everything but prices. Do I have to ring them all?

I got a REDARK from this guy on ebay.

It works very well, and is very simple to install. Great price, and very reliable service from this seller as well.

Thanks for that.
Does it work like the arb system, it's just that the blurb says "Fit and forget, this automatic isolator will keep an eye on the battery system"?
Did you spend much on all the other bits required to get it up and going?

The Redarc is just the smart isolator, works like the ARB system to a point. The ARB one is a whole system and it senses which battery needs a topup and does so. Theres a new system around (TJM and others have it) at the moment that also looks neat. Take a look HERE

Hi oldmagpie
the exide orbital is the same as the Optima, one of those spiral cell type batteries and due to the cost of it i'll make it fit, but thanks for the warning : )
