I am considering buying a solar panel and regulator mainly to power a 2nd battery in the 4wd to run a Waeco FF40 fridge.
I have looked at a lot of online sites for prices, and the Bits and Pieces site of Landline Equipment certainly seems value for money. I know that some of the members of several forums are very biassed against David, but I am looking for a product and a value for money deal and if he has the right product at the right price, then I will purchase from him.
I am interested in hearing from anyone who has purchased solar equipment from David concerning the quality of his product, value for money and after sales service/guarantee. I am particularly looking at the 115Watt STA115-12A panel and the SHS10 Morningstar regulator of a total cost of $987, which I assume is a current pricelist.

I purchased an 80 Watt Suntech Freedom panel from David. It is the folding one that comes in a padded canvas bag. The price I got was
well under retail that I was quoted elsewhere. In addition, the service provided by David was excellent.
Don't get me wrong, I have butted heads with Ozi on many forums over time, but my dealings with him 1 on 1 were excellent and I would recommend purchasing from him.
IMO You will always get an argument over technical knowledge and which product is best amongst certain people. Ozi was vocal in this respect. My advice is listen to as much advice as you can bear from all sources, try and filter the crap, make a decision yourself, and then buy at the best price. That is what I did with my setup and I am very happy with it.
Good luck.

Brian,
It’s the current price quoted on the website, so it would be right
(eg, not bait advertising)
However, does the regulator have a large LCD screen for quick visual reference?
Showing, among many other things;
Power consumed by the fridge
Power available at the battery (SOC or Voltage)
Power produced at the solar panel
Another really major benefit of a large digital LCD screen regulator is you can position the Solar panel to it's most effective position, simply because the power produced at the panel is shown instantly on the LCD screen.
Compare with the following regulator link.

I believe anyone who has used a LCD screen regulator would not go back to a 'black box' system again, as there is just so many extra benefits available from the LCD screen, you can see what is happening in real time, and not just see the results of a failure, after it has occurred.
