GDay, i have recently bought a imported 98 turbo deisel prado. Ihave been told it may be equivelant to the 2000-2001 australian issue. we want to add a bull bar and snorkel but have been told the bullbars for the 98 are not airbag compatible whereas ours has dual airbags. any tips or advice would be appreciated, thanks

I suspect that your concerns should not just extend to the bull bar, which I have no info on.

However if this is an auto model, then you should be aware, particularly if you are going to tow with it, that Toyota Australia delayed the introduction of diesel autos, because their tests revealed overheating problems.

I suggest you put a posting onto lcool web site, and all should be revealed.

90 series Prado's not destined for Australia or Middle East MAY experience colloing problems.

Easily fixed by upgradingb the radiator, and on auto's also fitting external transmission coolers.

The fuel injection system is also slighlty different to other Prado (but like some Hilux with 1KZ engine).

Consider joining the Prado Owners list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/90series?
