Radio problem with new wide track Jack

I've just taken delivery of my second Jack (2001 wide track), after owning a 98 model for 5 trouble free years. As I drove out the dealer I turned on the Eurovox radio and tried in vain to turn the volume down. The volume control goes from 0 - 39 on the LCD, but whenever I drop from 13 to 12 the volume suddenly goes to max. I can then turn it up and adjust back down to 13, but no lower or the problem re-occurs. It didn't do this last week when I turned the unit on during a test drive. I reckon it's a fault with the electronics, since it's happens precisely at the 13 to 12 transition every time. Anyone have any thoughts about a fix.

Sounds like radio is Fubar. Replace the radio with an DVD/WMA/MP3 player!
180+ songs per CD you can get, and triple that on a DVD MP3 player, so when your out of radio range, you can listen to tunes of your own selection for hours.

Decided to disconnect the battery to see if it makes any difference.
Re-connected the battery and the problem was gone, so I guess it was some sort of software glitch. Hope it doesn't come back ..... then again, I'll need some other excuse to replace it - sigh!!

Just tell the missus that you'll all be so much safer if you get one of the MP3 compatible players. Won't be taking your eyes off the road so often to change disks, won't be bored to sleep by the same tracks over and over, and you'll therefore be around to annoy her for many more years.
On second thoughts leave the last bit out.
