Hi all,
Previous posts have said that the raster maps are all available free. I have searched all through the GA website and it appears that there is only a partial list. I am looking for a map to run in Oziexplorer that will cover the Warrnambool area and right up to the Grampians.
Am I missing something or is the list incomplete and you still have to have the raster CD to get all maps?

Cheers,
Lyndon.

Whooppee - free raster maps! Where?

I don't think that there are actually "free" raster maps available - there may well be "freely available at a price".

Go HERE.

Select topography then either type in a place name or click in the "Define area of Interest". On the following page untick "Include National Scale Datasets in my results"

You will then get a list of 1:250,000 maps that meet your search criteria. Select the ones you want to download and click "Continue to File Selection"

On the following page click "ER Mapper Enhanced Compressed Wavelet (ECW), Raster data, 3.29MB" to use with OziExplorer.

Click "Continue to registration".

Either enter your registered email address or sign up and then fill out the following form. Then you will be sent an email with download links.

Yes, there are free maps at GPS Australia forums but not the 1:250,000 Natmap rasters. While these maps are free to download for personal use it is still a violation of copyright to further distribute those maps.

The maps there are 1:100,000 and 1:25,000 maps covering most/all of eastern Australia. These are quite useful and for close in work probably more useful than the 250k natmaps.
