Hi, Have just bought a 97 Land Cruiser Prado Manual Petrol and am wondering if anyone knows of any good 4WD courses in the Penrith NSW area. Also have seen something recently about the Coxs river 4WD course sany feedback on that would be great.

Hi Volkan,
In my opinion one of the best ways to gain experience..with a margin of saftey and full of fun is with a 4WD club..you generaly find members with 20 years plus driving offroad experience. They can guide you thru common pitfals as to truck mods not that there esential, but when you decide I need a bit more height you most times find a member who has done it..so it eliminates hit and miss..they also know where a lot of good tracks are and you have the security of numbers outbush if somthing goes wrong,as a rule of thumb they show less experienced drivers a easier way around an ostackle rather than "you be rite mate, what are ya, a wouse,do it".They understand what its like to be a learner and guide you at your own pace.Me as soon as I put my
wheels into the dirt I relised I would more than likely get stuck..it didn't stop me but I found a club to learn how to 4wd properly as if you are not carefull you can really hurt yourself.theres a heap of clubs out there I can think of about four in your area incluing my own, look around save money, have fun!

Join a club volkan.
You'll find like-minded people no matter what you're looking to do in a club enviroment. When we bought the Patrol 3 years ago, the LAST thing I wanted to do was join a club, but it has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was the BEST thing we could have done. we have found the club enviroment extremely easy to fit into, we have learned so much about 4wd'ing and
camping and have visited some awesome country so far. Click here for the NSW 4WD association web page where you'll find links to clubs etc...... Good luck!

Hi there Volkan try the nunes up near
lithgow, plenty of mud and some reasonable tracks around to try out the
suspension travel. Might even be going up myself on sunday depends if my builder finishes my pergola on saturday or not. I live at Glenmore
Park myself so we usually go up that way,use to be a good place called the drop zone off northern rd but the cops have been there lately and have been getting alot of the trail bikes have pulled ne over before but couldn't do much butt told me to more or less bleep off so I'm not going to risk it again. Take Care Regards Steve M, will let you know through the
forum if we go or not.
