2nd Bat in GU

Hi there I looking for some help for a mate who has a petrol 4.2 GU, he has had it converted to gas and wants to put 2nd batery in has any one got andy ideas and pos some pic

Is it a GU or GQ? I know you've put "GU", but you've also said "petrol 4.2"....the GU never came out with the 4.2 petrol motor AFAIK. So, either you've got the model wrong (and it's a GQ not a GU)....OR....you've got the donk size wrong (and it's a 4.5 or 4.8 and NOT a 4.2).
Whatever he decides to do, I can only suggest caution be exercised if he intends to use one of the trays that sits on the passenger's side mudguard and uses a couple of captive nuts on the inner guard......they will not hold the tray+ battery in the long run; metal fatigue will cause the captive nuts to break-away.

My GU ST4500 (TB45E donk) had a second battery tray mounted running east-west on the passengers side firewall. The battery was a bit smaller than the N70 size, same as my Fairlane FWIW.
Worked a treat. Only problem from memory was the cruise control lightly rubbed on the underside of the bonnet.
