Kosi/Canberra at Xmas/New Year?

Hi all, we're in the final leg of our big trip now journeying up the Murray towards Kosi NP. I'm just wondering if the
camp grounds will be busy over the festive period and if so any tips on where to avoid the crowds ?
We're thinking of being near Mt Selwyn for Christmas and then dropping into
Canberra for the New Year (probably at a caravan
park this time) - hopefully so the boys can see some fireworks.

Well Canberra itself won't be busy as 50% of the
population rack off to the Bateman's Bay area over the holidays. I'm not sure how many of the other 50% may go up to the snowies though...
