Looking for some feedback on IPF 900XS spotties. I currently have Cibies and very dissapointed with them. These are to stay on the car all the time. My other pride and joy (Lightforce 240 XGT) are only on for bush trips.
The reason I am looking at this particular model is that they did very well in a current light test in 4x4 monthly.
My belief is that the smaller lightforces are not that good for spread so looking at other brands.

Thanks,

Hi Gossy - Have the 900s on my GU - and they are brilliant.
But why are the lightforce 240's for bush trips only?
I understood that you could buy clear covers that give various beam spread.
If that is correct, then surely the 240's would be the ducks nuts?
Was thinking of changing to them myself.
Are the 240's too strong?

I only have the 240's on for two reasons. They don't fit inside the bullbar so they have to sit on top of the bar which is a slight pain when driving around the city.
The main reason though is the risk of theft.
I do have the combo cover on the LHS light and it works well. What I would like though is a light which sits inside the bullbar and stays on the car all the time so if I am going away for just an overnighter etc I don't have to put on the 240's.

The 900XS are great - once you own then you will see little point in swapping to the 240 XGT. They are almost twice as bright as the standard IPF 900's - a very white light.

I also have them on our '97 80 series and they have been great. Would buy them again.

Hi Gossy,
Yep, I agree with everyone else, I have the 900XS on my Rodeo and they are magnificent, the right hand one is a spottie and the left hand one is a driving light...highly recommended.

Cheers John D

thanks everyone for the feedback. They sound good.
Is the spread beam as effective as the 240 combo? I would think not purely because of the size difference but I don't know?
