Hi,
My '94 landcruiser ute has 15 inch mags
wheels with 32x 11.5 BFG Mud Terrain Tyres and i am planning on changing them.
I was wondering is it was common for 15 inch 4WD
wheels to have 32 inch tyres compared to using 31 inch?
OR
is 31 inch designed for hilux and 32 inch designed for landcruiser ute?

PS I was looking at putting 31 x 10.5 x 15 inch Remington Tyres on for $137 each and they have an all terrain tread similar to BFG all terrain.
The only offroad i do is on building sites and maybe drinving on sand to go fishing, other than that it is around town, jobsite to jobsite.
$137 is a far lot less cheaper than $250 for 32 x 11.5 x 15 BFG all terrain.
Just wondering if 31 inch was suited for landcruisers etc, speedo reading.

Brian 31 * 10 * 15 are a common size.
32*11.5 are the about the same rolling diameter as the standard split rim rubber that came out on the Ute.
Well that's what I am lead to believe.
All the best
Eric

It’s not the height of the Rim but the Width of it that dictates the size tyre you can fit to it, Any 15 inch tyre will go on a 15 inch rim but you can’t put a 33*12.5*15 tyre onto a 15 by 6 rim, you need a 15 by 8 minimum I think it is.
To answer the question a 31-inch tyre will be fine.

Brian
My brother has just done the same thing, he put on a set of Silver 80 Series Steel GXL rims with a 265 75 R16 Tyres, loves them. 31 inch is the most common, personly i feel the 32 x 11.5 are little to wide for the cruisers. The height is more important than the width in my opinion. THe cruiser rims he has are currently up for sale, so if you want some hot wheel let me know.
