Hi,
they are huge here in
Melbourne. They have the biggest
shop of any
camping store. They can be pricey, but if you wait for a special and/or become a VIP member, they are great. You can get up to 60% off some things. And they do not have a cheap chinese house brand, like Wild Country from Ray's.
Cheers

Yep like Shaggy said they have one down here, and you can get the 10% discount. My mate joined and got it on a GPS. My personal opinion is Anaconda makes Rays look like super cheap of the
camping world. They have everything!...most brands of GPS, and all on a working display, abseiling gear, mountain bikes....all types of things you didn't know you couldn't live without until you spot them. So yeah, theres a very good chance you will spot a bargain or two.
you can have a squiz at
http://www.anaconda.com.au/
just make sure you put the .au on the end!

They are like a Bunnings for Outdoor gear. Great to look around though they are pretty pricey. I usually only buy the stuff on specials. Staff in
Melbourne are pretty friendly and want to help you. I am sure it will be crowed on opening.

Yup great for maps.
but they do have everything, which is a worry, finding people that know what they are selling is always an issue

Dear truckster,
I have been to anaconda a few times and i am pleased to report that the staff that work there actually do have an idea about the produscts they sell.
Also they will better any advertised price by 10%.
Hopefully the same will apply in Qld.
Cheers

The stores are good for window shopping, the staff seem to lack knowledge, also I priced a Black Wolf Turbo 300 Tent with the works and they said their price was the best in
Melbourne, Grangers in Dandenong were $400 cheaper. If you need bits and pieces and like the convenience factor the store is great. Friday nights you can wait ages in the checkout, I waited 15 minutes.
