You could put on a pair of gloves, so as not to injure your fingers and pluck them off.

Or buy some elastic sided boots.

I trust you aren't bored Truckie, just hope this thread doesn't get out of control. :o)

Now now .. thats just asking for trouble:

wearing a leather thong where there are prickles about... that could be very uncomfortable indeed... It brings a terrible picture to my minds eye that I just can't seem to get rid of.. euwwww..

Whatever you don't please don't bring them into WA. I pick them off with my fingers, then learn to avoid them as best i can. Worried that they may travel in type treads or catch under the caravan also.

$hit here we go again. LOL.

Bruce I'm seriously concerned with your fixation on all things "Shoes"

Most "Normal" people have foot fetishes etc, but you seemed turned on by shoes.
And not even stilettos for that matter, then again "Are you wearing lace up stilettos in the bush"?

In the words of that famous person ("Whats her name again"?) "Please Explain"?

Get ya self a pair of elastic sided Blundstones and a pair of sock savers....those things that lawnmowing contractors and tree doctors wear.
(also known as "overboot covers")

If you have trouble getting elastic sided boots on (wot, is that a beer belly???) go for leather boot laces. Any good workwear store should have them. If they don't, let me know, I'll send you some.

Throw them away...the laces and the shoes

Rule of thumb is...when shoelaces are cactus then shoes are generally smelly!

Buy new ones

Thats only for rich people, chucking away shoes like that, Your ship come in again??
Me I bog up the soles with Tarzan's Grip to get more mileage, and spray a bit of deodorant in them to kill the smell, No money to keep buying shoes. LOL.

Upgrade to 'Rubber Bands'

Belgrave quality, or better. Must be larger than size 16 and can be found in most mega stores in the bush.

Cut once, any position and thread through top lace hole only. Tie tight, a simple knot is the preferred method.

Benefits..never have to untie laces again, allow easy on-easy off, will stretch as your feet swell during the heat of the day and no burrs.

Was going to post a link demonstrating how it is done, but didn't.

Rgds

Forgot to add, have been told from a usually reliable source that they will fit both Toyota and Nissan owners, without any adaptors needed.

Real Aussies dont wear shoes/boots with laces ,real men only wear thongs , blue ones for everyday wear and black for more formal occasions such as weddings and funerals !!!

you could go the yuppy look!
1. get some elastic (not the flat crap the women use for clothes, but round/tubular)
2.thread it like normal laces,
3. put one of those plastic thingys on that you use on the draw string on a sleeping
bag.
nike did a shoe like this. you can either loosen your laces by squeezing the plastic thing and letting the laces slide through, or you set the shoelaces how you like them and just pull the shoe off, the laces stretch!!!!

P.S. they dont pick up burrs!
