Mal B,

To fix that problem you will need either numerically lower diff ratio, or larger tyres. Both will require a recalibration box or different gears for the speedo drive to get the right speed indication. Might be worth considering a Marks Adapter and a Hilux transfer case for the strength and compatability with the Commo/t700 combination. Mazda chain drive tcases are known to break their chains with only the normal engines....let alone the power/torque of a Commo/auto.

The high range ratio in the transfer case is always going to be 1:1 with the type of transfer case you (will) have. (even in the Hilux) Only three tcases I know of have ratios other than 1:1 in high range and all are offset rears; Suzuki Sierra, early Landrover, and Lada Niva. (there are probably others, I'm sure someone will add to the list)

I'm in the process of doing a similar thing to a Kia Sportage, although I'm adding a couple of GQ Patrol diffs into the equation as well ::EVIL::

Hi GaryInOz,Wow! You will have bullet proof diffs in the Kia Sportage after that..Remember when the Sportage first came out and they blitzed everything in the big USA offroad events croos country..(They had the spare out back then)..Very few mods, yet the other teams had highly modified rigs with V-8s un-limited budgets etc..Left 'em all for dead for the whole years season..(I have, amongst other rigs,a Rocsta I bought new in '94 and should have got a spare before they stopped importing them..Magic offroader..Wanted a rig with no air-con,no power steer, real diffs (got Detriots in),real free-wheel hubs-manual,real springs (leaf),removable doors(close to as possible original WW2 Jeep) and acceptable power to weight ratio..Most of all : Fun to drive:A drivers rig. Oh what a buzz...Rocsta!!MPG:7!

On 35" Simex ET Centipedes????

I reckon you might notice me coming.......LOL
