I have a friend with an 80 series standard poverty pack. He's keen to get rid of the standard split rims, wants steel wheels 16x7 or thereabouts and is looking for options. Maybe Sunraysia type or there other model/make options all at a reasonable price. Does anyone have any suggestions please? Thanks

Speedie steels 16x7 should do the trick. They are around $100 each and pretty tough.

The 90series 16x7 Prado rims have the same backspacing as the 80series, and should bolt straight on.

Hello MikeR, I bought a set of Nissan Factory 16X6 rims (Navara) from the local TyrePower store, these are much thicker that Speedie, AND SUPPOSED TO BE STRONGER. You might check for a Toyota factory rim in 16x7 and then ring around the tyre dealers or wreckers in your area.

I changed my 16x7 (or is it 16x8??) GXL steel rims for CSA 5 spoke Alloy mags - I have the GXL rims in Perth and would sell them if you are interested - and if I am allowed to say that here??

Drew
Thanks for the offer but Perth may be a bit far to go to collect them as I am in Melbourne. Just as a matter of interest, how much would you sell them for?
Thanks

Sorry, for some reason I thought you were in W.A....Originally I was keen to get $150 each (I have 6). When I bought the 6th one I had to get it from S.A. as I couldnt find any in W.A. after 6 months of searching - and I paid $160 forit secondhand. Now I would be keen to get rid of them for $100 each.

ps The CSA mags that I now have I paid $150 each for secondhand, but with 265/75R16 Bridgestone Mud Terrains they end up flush with the wheel arches (of my Poverty pack), whereas the GXL rims stuck out a fair bit.

I have just done the same thing recently on my 'poverty pack'. Through the Trading Post I purchased 2nd hand 235/85/16 BFG A/Ts on Sunraysia wheels. These aren't very wide but the Sunraysia offset puts the rubber outside the guards which means installing flairs or keeping the originals to put on for rego.
