Hi all
I want to give the olds a Christmas present of a self drive tour of South Western WA for around 4-5 days. Can anyone recommend a tour operator that provides a self drive option with accomodation included ?
Also what are some of the sights which are on the 'must see' list in that region ?
Looking forward to hearing your suggestions !
Thanks
-Marc

I doubt you would find guided self drive tour. Option would be either a bus type of package tour, or just self drive. What to see? Depends where they come from and what they like. Wineries? Personally i have no interest, but some people love to do tours of just wineries. Tall timber? I love trees, but they may or may not. Beaches? Again depends on what they like. Accommodation? Lots of B&Bs which give a more personal touch than hotel type accommodation. Just my thoughts too late at the end of a long day. Motherhen

I am not after a 'guided' tour just a self drive one. The live in Europe and interests are: beaches, forests, maybe the odd winery but not overly crazy about them. Thanks, -Marc

It is not the area you are talking of but there is the GOLDEN QUEST DISCOVERY TRAIL. It is a self drive tour of about 1100 km around the goldfields. It pases by many historic sites and natural attractions. All the
camping areas have been done up with decent fireplaces and dunnies. The attractions have interprative boards but to get the most of it there is a substantial book with maps, tripnotes and full history of the areas and other historical facts. The book is called the golden quest discovery trail and is available from newsagents and tourist beureus

Hi I am looking more for a self drive tour along the major highways with accomodation at B&Bs or hotels, not really tag-along tours and 4WDing.
Thanks

You could try the guys from 'Campfire Escapes' on (08) 9291 8303, website - eureka4wd.com.au/campfire.htm. They run guided tours etc. They also produce the Western 4WDriver magazine - not a bad read for a local magazine.
Hope this helps.
