Has anyone actually done this conversion in their GU 3.0Tdi.
If so, I'm looking for feedback as to performance...
Is it heavier under foot to operate?
Does it make any difference to noise, vibration or handling of the vehicle?
Any other points?
Thanks in advance

There was much discussion on these at club xmas party this weekend as one dude had issues with his OEM clutch on the way to the club property
General consensus was that they are a little bit heavier, but thats to be expected, it could also feel worse than it actually is due to OEM clutch being fubar.
But apart from that, there was no real difference in driving the car.
YMMV

Hi Andrew
I have done this conversion on customers vehicles.
We throw away the dual mass flywheel (made by Daiken as
well) and fit a Daiken solid state flywheel and Daiken clutch kit. It worked out cheaper than fitting a new dual mass flywheel and OEM clutch kit.
I noticed a very slight rattle type noise (no where near as bad as diesel landcruiser's) with the gear selector boots off and carpet out but once install was complete no noise was evident at all.
I agree with Truckster they are slightly heavier and consensus from customers is they have the best clutch they have ever had. We also do these conversions to the dual mass set up on V6 Commodores with nothing but positive comments returned.
Try my web link here Patrol info. Not sure if I make a mention about the clutches here but I think I did.
Cheers

Thanks cruiser
So the problem isn't actually the Nissan clutch then? but the dual mass fly wheel?
I heard stories of the clutch failing and giving out but is this more likey to be the fly wheel then?
cheers

Further to that if you put a new clutch in and don't replace the flywheel you will be lucky to get a half decent pedal.
The taper on the flywheel is enormous. You usually measure the surface of a flywheel with a straight edge but the ones we remove you can put a ball point pen through.
Hope this helps.
