Doing the AB in August and know you need to give a fair bit of lead time for permits. When applying/getting a permit to cross Aboriginal lands, how exacting does one need to be as to the dates that you will be passing through? Is it within a week, or a fortnight, or even a month?
The reason I ask, as a farmer, Mother Nature can be unpredictable and we may not be able to leave the farm when planned. And as our own bosses we can leave when we it suits us but will be working on a specific date anyway. But......just in case, I'd like to know.
Thanks

Hiya - SkippyKing,
The permits have a 21 day leeway either side of the dates you give but it is best to state a planned date and mention that this is APPROXIMATE. There are no dramas at all. Enjoy it!

Can't give you a precise answer to exact dates but have found in W.A they can be flexible if you contact the relative councils by phone or fax of any change of dates after you have your permits. By the way will be doing the AB myself in early August from west to east. Might meet you somewhere. Still working out dates myself. Cheers.

G'day Topcat,

We're going west-east in early Aug as well. Will keep in touch through here, and we might swap info on conditions etc. You located Perth?
