Where's the best place to go to for the fitment of Anderson Plugs and Elec Brake controllers to my car. ARB? Caravan place, Auto Elec? I live near Frankston in Vic if anyone knows a reputable such business down this way.
With the Anderson, is there any benefit of running this from the 2nd battery of a 4WD dual battery system, to charge on the move, or just via the main.

On another topic, when changing the wheel bearings in your camper, what do you safely prop the trailer on to avoid getting squashed? Mines a Track Trailer, so no central axle.

Thanks
Mike

Good Auto/Electrician can do it for you or you can DIY...

I also have a Track with MC2 suspension, I jack it up then just use the the rear stand as a safety back up, it will hold the trailer weight quite comfortably if necessary, but you can leave the jack in situ & use the rear stand as a back up.

Thanks Shaker - didn't think of that! Do you have an Eagle, if so what sort of wheel bearings are these?
Thanks

Mike,
Can't help you around Frankston but I had a similar job done by Hardings in Bayswater (6 The Nook, Bayswater (03) 9729 8477). I had no complaints as they do know their stuff but they do try to sell you more that you intended to buy.

I have not got my second battery set up yet but will definitely swap the Anderson plug connection over the the second battery once I get that fitted.

regards
Toolman

Hi
Had ours done by the friendly local auto elec in Healesville. Neat, quick, works and for (about) $130 I could not be bothered spending hours of my time and ending up with something that looked home made. My trades work is not that good.
And when I took it back some months later with a problem I thought was related to the work he done (it wasn't as it turned out) he fixed this in 1 minute flat and wouldn't take anything for it.
Must admit though that he has done lots of work for us both on the Paj and on various bits of farm related equipment. Both Mitsu and Iseki (the out-front mower on the property) sent our work to him to fix problems they couldn't.

I bought a brake controller and Anderson plug on Ebay for the best price. I then had a local auto electrician fit them. They are easy to fit but I did not have time to fit them myself. Cost $230 which also included making a bracket to fit the Andrson plug up out of the way so it did not get knocked off on rough tracks.
