Hi all,
I have a Garmin Extec Legend and woukld like to plan my trips using a laptop ie down load waypoints etc. What is the best program to buy to be able to read topgraphical maps etc.

Supersapper42, Have found Oziexplorer software with Natmap Raster Premium mapping software to be excellent and easy to set up on the laptop.

ANd select "Topography" and then the area you are interested in.
When selecting the product make sure you nominate the .ECW files.
The whole process is a bit convoluted, but you end up with a file that Ozi will import and create the .MAP files for you
