Hi,
I have a 99 Pajero Exceed Station Wagon with the rear seats that fold up to the side. As we are a family of 4 the use of the rear seats is virtually nonexistent. I would like to remove them to increase the rear cargo space. This way we can fit the pram, porta-cot, bikes, boogiboards, 7 chickens and 3 goats that are mandatory when venturing out for the weekend.
Seriously does anyone know how to remove the rear seats, without damaging them or the vehicle and so they can be replaced when it's time to sell?

The earlier Pajero had the retaining bolts hidden under plastic clip on covers. I assume yours will be similar, so just have a look where the seat joins the vehicle and see if you can pry off any trim bits to get at the bolts. Just be careful when you undo things to support the weight, they are heavier than you think.

According to what has been discussed extensively over recent times, the seats can be removed, but do not remove the seat belt anchor points. Also, keep the seats as they must be in the vehicle when it is sold. As for the actual removal, gently pry the plastic caps off the mounts and remove the bolts, the seats should come out quite easily. Keep the bolts, as they must be used to re-install the seats.

Happy trails, Mike.

There are four bolts under plastic covers, which are held in by screws. Just undo the screws remove the plastic covers and with the seat folded down remove the outer two bolts fold the seat up to the side and remove the two inner bolts. Unclip the strap at the top and remove the seat.
