Has anyone else updated to the latest version of OziExplorer yet? (3.96.4j released 2 Dec). It has interface functionality with Google Earth. You can use it as an interface to export tracks and waypoints from your GPS to Google Earth. Sort of puts a new perspective on yout GPS data.

Just a note: for best results set the tools/options/Elevation Exagerration
to 3 in Google Earth. Also Google Earth Requires at least broadband/cable connection and VERY bandwidth intensive. Don't even
try it if you are using the modem.

Other areas are interesting as
well. The 'project' dunctionality looks very usefull, and the automatically loading elevation data.

Yeah. It's a great idea. I'm using it already and have to say it is an excellent enhancement to Ozi.

I have also been using the GPX export function. It has had a few wrinkles ironed out, but is also a good way to share data with other applications.
One thing I discovered very quickly is that very few GPX conversant applications handle GPX (XML) special characters correctly.
Be careful about using these characters in name and description fields when preparing data for export to GPX:
$' "
You will probably find that they will cause errors when trying to import the the GPX file into other applications. The fix for this in Ozi is ready to be released but many other applications still have the same problem.
