Has anyone fitted ,,, lets say Cooper or equivalent muddys STT's etc in 17's...... 275's or larger...????
Is it possible for this size to clear guards with a 2inch lift??.....or are they a lot more limited than the large wheelbase 4x4's??
And if it has been done by someone could we have feedback on how it affected the auto trans gear changes ,fuel econ and power loss...???

Thanks...

Hi, I hate to burst your bubble but I dont believe you can buy a 275/70/17 in a Cooper STT. its 265 or 33x12R. I tried the 33s, they will not fit on standard GXL rims with Lovells spring lift.

Im running the 265 remembering they are speced at 810mm, a tad higher than the oppositions and I am very happy so far.

I noticed your in Adelaide, your welcome to meet me if you want to see the clearances.

Regards,

Peter.

Howdy A-Man.....

We are doing another high country trip starting on 22nd Feb 06...
We are prob going to follow the directions as shown in the treknotes on this site.... From Mansfield to Dargo to Harrietville....
Is this a gutsy route with lots of decent creek crossings and steep hills etc etc..????

Regards Grant..

It all covered on 120 list... 275/70/R17 ATR will fit without the lift. They will rub
a bit on full lock...

Hi Voxson
FYI I run 265/75 x 16 wranglers on my 120.
The left front just touches the mudflap on full left lock.
I have Lovell HD front springs and Lovell standard springs in rear.
These tyres are bigger than 265/65 x 17 and fuel economy tumbles as does off the mark power but you do increase capability and ground clearance under the diff.

Just some useless info for you
