Thanks for all your answers to my post 28666 re Destinator or CoPilot software. Have just ordered a HP Ipaq HX4700, Destinator PN, & Globalsat BT338 from Press Digital (much cheaper than GPSOZ; & Johnny Appleseed GPS in Melb still haven't got back to me!!). Expect some posts in the next weeks as I start to play with it!
I'll get street mapping with Destinator sorted out first, then work on OziExplorerCE & Raster maps etc. Anyone have the latest Raster 250k Premium DVDs and/or 1:100, 1:50, 1:25 map files of
Vic High Country they are happy to share?

Followup on your previous post.
I said TomTom was better than Destinator.
Well the interface might be, and it has much better re-routing options, but on a trip outta town we just returned from it was Destinator who could find a route and TomTom couldn't.
That was for Binnington, Myalup, and Point Herron (all south of Mandurah in WA).
They aren't exactly lower woop woop and it couldn't find them in its mapping.
TomTom might be excellent around town but its mapping outta the CBD leaves some to be desired.
The 250k Rasters are available free online, have a hunt on the
forum, there is a link thats done the rounds a few times.

interesting re Destinator & Tom Tom
re the 250k raster maps .. i've downloaded a few but its incredibly time consuming finding which ones you need & then downloading them (& i've got cable internet). if i can't get someone to give me a copy of the raster premium DVDs i think i'll just buy them because you get the whole-of-australia mosaic & the various UTM mosaics which i reckon would be very useful
