Hi Guys
Does anyone know the current status with Mudlo rocks? We are going to Fraser on the 17th and I am wondering if I should go via the Bruce Highway to
Rainbow or show the other people in my car the nice way, they have never been on the North Shore side or on
the beach driving....
Thanks

Mate, the rocks can change on a daily basis so best method is to 'suck it and see'. Most times they're OK as long as the tide is low and there's been no big blows.
I'd go that way for sure but be prepared to turn around at D.I. point and take the freshwater track. That's not a bad drive anyway....

Was up at
Rainbow Beach last week and the rocks were nowhere to be seen. As stated that can change on a daily basis!! I agree with travelling up via the coloured sands and then checking
the beach from Double Island to
Rainbow Beach. Freshwater is a nice diversion. Better get in early if you want to visit the
Cherry Venture - it has been crushed down and now rusting away very quickly.
If you want another to go to
Rainbow and avoid all the highway driving go up the Cooloola Way via
Pomona. The road has just been graded so a week ago was in good nick but I think they might have had some rain up there in the last week so that may also have changed.

Agree on the rate of change of the rocks. (haven't been ther for a while though.. but if you do head that way.. the local tour operators operate on UHF Ch 16 and you could always give em a call and ask em before heading a cross the ferry at Noosa.. In fact I have found the Ferry operators pretty helpfull too.. Cheers

Go beach way.
Rocks will only become exposed again with big tide and storm. Have fun.
